I'm bored. At the beginning of the week, I was just trying to alternately study for my all important public opinion final, and procrastinating studying for it by: messing around with my sims tools, browsing the we for interesting harry potter information without accidentally finding spoilers, etc.
But, now the exam is over, and all that is left is to wait for the grade, and later to beg the professor to change it if the grade is not a good one. So, aside from a few cursory chores I have to do (get prescription filled, see career councilor) I have really nothing I have to do.
The other day I bought Million Dollar Baby thinking that this boredom situation would arise sometime between Wednesday and Saturday afternoon. Well, it finally did, but as I was opening the DVD I realized I had accidentally picked up the full screen version. Now, that might be fine for, say a New Hampshire Mormon, but I want wide-screen. Thus, I didn't finish opening it, so that maybe they will allow me to exchange it. Of course, that means that my plan to fight boredom (at least for 2 hours) is shot.
Before the boredom escalated to this point, I tried several other things. I played some moongate on both my characters, but that was bust. Lantis is in Seelie castle, though maybe she should be in Cavhfail, trying to figure out how to get past the guards to get into the keep. [If you happen to know, you should help me out and comment.]
And Elislyn is in Sigil waiting for a group of high first classers to form up with to do Odious, and trying to figure out the location of the hidden fey illusionist, or trying to compile 1,000,000 gold. [Help on the illusionist would also be accepted gratefully.]
Also, I wasted some time making a new mesh design for a sim of Elislyn. Now I just have to do some other stuff with it- map it, save it properly, and then make a skin of it. That requires a bit too much technical skill though, that I don't have. One of the reasons I would never hack it as a game designer.
Barring that though, it's just been the oppressing weight of waiting for the book to get here, and trying not to spoil it for myself in the mean time. Interestingly, Amazon has still not shipped my book yet. I'm wondering where they're shipping it from that makes them remain confident that it will get to me in the promised time? Are they shipping it by express air mail, or something?
Edit: They did ship it. Yesterday. They just didn't tell me about it. Heck, it could be here tomorrow if someone at UPS screws up and delivers it early, for example.
So, instead of watching my new movie I read my fan theories on harry potter book. Some of them are very convincing. For instance, the last one that really surprised me was a theory that James Potter was actually living in hiding in Remus Lupin's body (and his affliction) as an extra precaution against Voldemort finding him. There's more to this, but I don't want to go off on a tangent. Anyway, I was convinced for a while that that was the truth. It's not, but it was interesting none the less.
I think I'll finish that skin now... partly. Later.
